Touchscreen build identification
A development label in Settings → About makes a project build identifiable on the machine. The initial candidate has been installed and tested on the Artisan.
CDworks development project
An independent development project extending the Snapmaker Artisan A400 touchscreen and machine dashboard. Follow the modifications as we build, test and refine them.
The development repository is currently private. GitHub access is required to view the source and project notes.
The approach
We are improving the Android FabScreen interface and its LAN dashboard: clearer machine information, camera visibility and a foundation for future integrations.
The stock Artisan controller continues to manage motion, tools, temperature control and machine interlocks. Changes to the interface are developed and validated in stages.
Modifications
Each part of the project has its own validation status. A working candidate is a step in development, rather than a general release.

Building on community UVC camera support, a Logitech C920 live preview has been shown in Orca. Powered-hub coexistence and longer-session stability remain in testing.
A read-only Controller view brings supported temperature and controller reports into the LAN dashboard. Printing-state behavior and disconnect/reconnect handling still need validation.
An idle-gated shortcut opens the Artisan’s existing Firmware Update screen. Installation remains a user-confirmed action on the touchscreen.
Behind the interface
The development pipeline builds and signs the touchscreen application, verifies its package, and prepares a stock rollback alongside each device-specific candidate.
Source revisions and project patches are tracked so each candidate has a clear starting point.
Package identity, signing and container checks support a repeatable development workflow.
Device-specific packaging preserves the other stock firmware payloads and prepares a recovery package.
Research & next steps
These are areas of investigation. They are not released features or confirmed compatibility claims.
Investigating Anycubic ACE Pro 2 integration and a controller-coordinated tool-change workflow for the Artisan.
Exploring probing, telemetry and an expansion hub while retaining the Artisan controller’s role in machine operation.
Evaluating a future FullSpectrum Orca adaptation for an Artisan Marlin/ACE workflow. A verified tool-change contract comes first.
